Gault Williams and Lagatha (--?--) appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of at Oklahoma City, at Oklahoma County, Oklahoma at 601 North Western Street (Third Ward), enumerated 4 April 1930, Their ages were listed as 25 and 24, respectively, born in Missouri and Texas, respectively, both married, ages at first marriage were 22 and 21, respectively, both did not attend school the previous year, and both could read and write. The home was listed as rented for $20 per month, and not on a farm. The home was apparently a two-family structure. A radio was not listed as being present in the home. The official date of that census was 02 April 1930. , Gault was listed as employed as an assembler at an auto factory (as a worker). No occupation was listed for Lagatha.3 Between c1935 and c 1940, Gault Williams changed his name to Patrick Williams. After this time, he was more generally known within his family by the shortened form Pat.4

Gault Williams appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma at 525 1/2 West Mylte, enumerated probably 4 April 1940, as a lodger in the household of Eleanor F Dyer. He was one of 19 lodgers listed in the houshold (in addition to Mrs Dyer and two members of her family). The residence was listed as rented for $75 per month, and not on a farm. As best that can be determined, Gault was not related to any of the other lodgers. The official date of that census was 01 April 1940. , Gault was listed as age 38, divirced, born in Missouri, not attending school in March 1940, having completed 2 years of college, and lived in the same place (Oklahoma City) on 1 April 1935. He was listed as employed, not seeking work, and worked 45 hours during the week of 24-30 March. His occupation was listed as inspector, city health department, as a govenment worker. He reported 52 weeks worked in 1939, $1740 wage income, and other income (other than wages and salary) in excess of $50. The population schedule indicates a farm schedule was not filed for this household (i.e., Mrs Dyer's household).5

On 19 February 1935, it appears that Virgil Lindsey Fields (listed as Virgil L Fields) and Rose Daly filled out an affidavit for a marriage license in Yuma County, Arizona. The affadivit was apparently not signed by the county clerk. There is no known specific documentation indicating that a marriage license was ever issued or that a marriage between these two individuals ever took place. BUT, A Virgil Fields (who seems to correspond to this individual) was listed as divorced in the 1940 Census. Both Virgil and Rose stated they were residents of Indio, California (giving the same specific mailingaddress, where the certificate was to be sent following a wedding, of Box 95F, Indio, California). The affidavit gives there ages as 24 and 20, respectively, and their places of birth as Arkansas and Arizona, respectively. Virgil Lindsey Fields's occupation is listed as Steel Worker. Except for his indicated age (24, when at that time he was 20), the information matches up quite well with Virgil Lindsey Fields. However, there is a possibility this license application was filled out by a different person, with a similar name.1

An item in her father's Civil War pension file also lists her birth year as 1880 (but other items list 1879). Ollie is presumed to be a nickname. It is possible she had a middle name of Olivia (which is also indicated by an item in her father's Civil War pension file, but another item in the pension file seems to list her middle initial as "D").3,2

Pearl (--?--) and Adam Smith appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Jackson Township, at Greene County, Missouri, enumerated 21 June 1900. The home was rented and was on a farm. An agricultural census schedule was filed for this household. The official date of that census was 01 June 1900. This census is unique in that month and year of birth were requested for each individual, in additon to each individual's age at the official census date. Adam Smith was listed as age 22 born in Missouri, married 2/12 of a year (although this is difficult to read and somewhat uncertain), and employed as a farmer. Pearl (--?--) was listed as age 19, born in Tennessee, and also (apparently) married 2/12 of a year (both her parents were listed as born in Kentucky). She reported not having given birth to any children. Both members of the household could read, write, and speak English. Neither of them attended school within the past year. Adam's parents were the previous household entered on the census schedule page. A note on the census schedule page appears to indicate these households were in the southern portion of Jackson Township.1

In March 1929, Drewey William Smith’s apparent widow, Adelphia (--?--) applied for a payment from the pension office. What she received appears to have been only the amount of his pension that accrued between the time of the last payment that he received and the time of his death. She does not appear to have received (or applied for) a continuing regular monthly payment based on Drewey William Smith’s army service (and may not have been eligible for one, following a relatively short marriage entered into late in his life).
