Madaba Jordan -- 17 Nov 2011
This is cropped from the previous photo. It shows the portion of the map that shows the dead sea. The wooden-tub-like features are boats floating in the Dead Sea (not to scale, of course). The figures of people in the boats have been erased (or obscured -- these are the egg-shaped "objects" "in" the boats). This was apparently done at a time when Moslems used the building, in accordance with Moslem rules about pictorial representations of humans.
Looks like other features (alongside the boats, but not "in" them) have also been partially erased. I'm not sure what was going on there.
