Kenya and Tanzania -- Oct 2012 -- Part III of III

My memory is that we did not see many elephants in this park (or large numbers of animals of any kind -- except that the water hole by the lodge did OK). I heard there had been a drought here a few years back, and the animal populations were still recovering.

When we were at the elephant orphanage in Nariobi (several days earlier) there had been mention of a lot of poachers (ivory hunters) at one of the Tsavo parks, but I think it was Tsavo East moreso than here at Tsavo West.
