Taken sitting on the room balcony. There were no fences around the lodges in Tanzania to keep animals from coming VERY close to the guest areas.

At this lodge (and at the tent camp, where we stayed the two following nights), they wanted people to get security escorts when going between the guest area and the main building after dark. The security escorts were armed with flashlights.
