Safari Tourists
Ngorongoro Crater.
This was a group of safari jeeps photographed from a distance (and shown here out of sequence). They are clearly looking at something. I suspect they were looking at the group of lions, who are shown in the following several photos. However, they might have been looking at something else, such as the two rhinos.
Note the road in the background. I'm pretty sure that is the two-way road we later took to leave the crater. It is about 180 degrees around from the one-way-downward road (near the lodge) we used to enter the crater. We had to spend close to an hour on a very rugged rim road to get back to the lodge.
There is a one-way-upward road that comes out near the lodge. However, it was closed for repairs (or perhaps a rebuild).
The dark area at the left center of this photo appears to be a cloud shadow. However, there was also an area in this part of the crater that had been blackened by a grass fire.
