Kenya and Tanzania -- Oct 2012 -- Part I of III

In South Carolina, these birds (or some very much like them) are called Cattle Egrets. Here, they are probably Elephant Egrets. I think I've heard those in the US South have come here from Africa only in the last 30-40 years. Of course, the ones on the east coast of the US would probably have come from West Africa. Kenya and Tanzania are in East Africa.

The gazelles in the foreground are Thompson's Gazelles or Tommies.
