This is the next day. We drove to Amman. After a drive-thru tour of parts of the city, we went to the Citadel in the original center of town -- an ancient fortress. This hilltop citadel is said to be the place where the biblical King David sent Bathsheba's husband to be killed in a war against the Ammonites (Amman -- Ammonites, get it?).
