November 26, 2011 -- Sunrise at two temples at Abu Simbel (built by Ramses II), cruised past ruins of an old fortress at Kasr Ibrim, Amada (three structures moved here to escape lake flooding).

This is one of the few places where some remnant of the original paint remained on the walls in these temples. (Later, in the Valley of the Kings, a LOT of the original paint is still on the walls of tombs, which have been tunnelled into the rock. Unfortunatley, no photos were allowed there. (IMG_0925A.jpg)
