On this day, climbing (hiking to the top of the rock) was prohibited due to heat. It WAS hot that day (I believe it actually got to 40 C that day, which is about 104 F). However, my impression is that they close the trial to the summit on just about any excuse that can find -- part of the general discourgement for being on the rock.(IMG_5016.A495.JPG)
