6 Nov 2013 (Wednesday) – Uluru Australia (Ayres Rock)
The vertical dark streak is a place water runs off during rains. There are apparently some depressions on the top where water collects duriing rains (and fish live in them). However, it's a ROCK, so, during rains, almost no water can soak in. It almost all runs off (at grooves and natural channels on the rock surface) at essentially the same rate it falls on the rock.
