Australia & NZ (Land) -- Oct & Nov 2013

This photo is out of sequence. It is the first (in this album) of about 14 taken at the Featherdale Wildlife Center. I put this photo first because it contains a partial view of a sign giving the name. The remainder of the photos in this album were taken at Featherdale.

Featherdale is a privately owned place that is basically a tourist trap petting zoo. However, it has apparently been around so long that it's a Sydney-area institution. It reminded me of Kennywood in Pittsburgh, in that apparently every child who has grown up in Sydney has been to Featherdale (probably several times -- some of them on school field trips). It's out of the Blue Mountains, closer to Sydney. We stopped on the way back near the end of the day. (IMG_4551.SX40A.JPG)
