A lion killed a wildebeest right in this area one night while we were here. Heard it, but did not see it. It's described in the trip write-up in a different section of this web site.

I took photos of the ground in this area the next morning, where there seemed to be a couple footprints indicating (or suggesting) where the kill had taken place. However, the tracks did not show up as very dramatic (and perhaps not very convincing) in the photos. I did not include those photos in this gallery. Similarly, the dead animal was left on the ground in a clump of small trees perhaps 20-25 feet away from the tent's porch steps. I'll spare you that photo too.

As can be seen here, the tent is on a "permanent" foundation. It's more a tent-cabin than just a tent.
