This is a few minutes later, and (as indicated in conjunction with an earlier photo) might be a different group of elephants.

Here it is pretty clear this one large female is knows were are around and is keeping an eye on us (and somehow keeping her baby close to her). I don't claim to be able to judge the age of baby elephants, but I'm pretty sure this is not anything like a newborn.
