Kenya and Tanzania -- Oct 2012 -- Part II of III

We stopped for lunch at a "coffee plantaion," which seems to now be primarily a lodge (this more "initmate" that the Sereana lodges -- it seemed more along the lines of a bed and breakfast).

They grow (and apparently also roast) coffee. However, my impression is that most of their production was used in their own kitchens and sold in theri gift shop. There was extensive gardens on the property (growing both "truck vegetables" and flowers). It seemed like the food was grown mostly for use in their own kitchen.
