Most of downtown Chistchurch is a wasteland. Not rebuilt from the earthquakes. The vacant lots and parking lots shown here are involuntary. These are places where buildings were so severely damaged that they had to be demolished. Probably all but one or two of the still-standing buildings visible here over four floors high will be demolished in 2014 or 2015. (IMG_5006.SX40.JPG)
